This is a solo personal project made over 2 weeks based on a TikTok (shown right). My goal with this project was to make a website version of this google form so anyone could use it and generate the invite images so the user doesn’t have to make it themself.
Datemates.fun is a Node.js website using Express and Handlebars, hosted on Heroku. It generates two links to be sent to a partner, one before a date and one after. The first link is a form for the recipient to select options for a date they would like to go on; the results and a generated invite image are then sent to the email of the host. The second link is an after-date survey.
In order to create the image invites I used Jimp. I first designed templates in photoshop, then recreated them with Jimp, and fill out the text boxes with data parsed from the form submission. The image is then temporarily saved and emailed to the host with the rest of the data for the date.
